Marantha Estuary - Culture Beach Camp

This place is heaven on Earth. It is an afro-rasta community cultural exchange village with dancing and traditional drumming being the focus. Some of the nicest people and most beautiful location. It is a long sandbar beach with the ocean on one side and a fresh water estuary on the other side. The simple bungalow huts have only walls and a roof and sand for the floor. The village pulls in huge nets that fishers cast out into the sea every morning. The first time we went Carol and I helped pull in the net, which was hard work.

The second time Devin and I went we were to be volunteers for a week working with children, environment clean-up, and community education. But stupid Devin had to go and ruin that by getting Malaria. The staff was so helpful by helping us get to the hospital on long boat rides. Thank you again Winfred and Victor- rastafari teach and bless you, nuff love- see you another time.
